Network Monitoring can ensure your critical network
applications are running. If you're not monitoring your
network and applications from a remote location you
may not be aware when problems occur.
Common Service Monitoring
TCP/IP services - HTTP, SMTP, FTP, DNS, Telnet, Time,
Gopher, IMAP4, SNMP, and other common services for quick
monitoring
Custom Service Monitoring
Monitor virtually any service by connecting to a particular
port, sending a command string, and examining the expected
response. If the application fails to return the correct
response (optionally within a certain amount of time)
a service failure is generated. This allows monitoring
for popular applications such as Lotus Notes, Oracle,
SQL Server, Sybase, Exchange, or others.
Notification
Since every network manager needs to be alerted to network
failure, a timely response is critical to avoid lengthy
downtime. Notifications can be sent via a beeper, pager,
Email, cell phone, voice message, or log file.
Reporting
Several internal and external reports and graphs are
available that show historical performance of your network.
Keep track of device and application availability and
response times to assist you in holding your service
providers accountable.
Remote Administration via the Web
Web access allows you to perform virtually all network
administration tasks remotely via any browser from anywhere
on the Web. Access from the Web is fully password protected,
and it can be further restricted by granting or denying
access to only those with a specified IP address or
in a specified IP address range.
